A contemporary artisan hair practice that deepens the art of ritual and restraint, where hair is shaped by the quiet intelligence of nature and influenced by stillness and simplicity.
HOME OF HINOKI is an invitation to pause. Conceived through the lens of Japandi — where Japanese restraint meets Scandinavian warmth — the studio reimagines the hair experience as ritual rather than routine. Its name draws from hinoki, the revered Japanese cypress long honoured in temples and bathhouses for its quiet presence, natural grain, and the calm it has lent to spaces of reflection for centuries.
Within these walls, the hair experience becomes an exercise in presence. Each appointment is shaped with intention — the grain of natural wood, the scent of cypress, the soft fall of light that defines Japandi interiors, each element composing a singular sense of arrival. Hair is not merely styled but considered: read, understood, and shaped in dialogue with its natural form. Imperfection is not concealed but honoured — an ethos drawn from wabi-sabi, the Japanese reverence for beauty found in the organic, the asymmetrical, the unrepeatable.
This philosophy extends through every surface and gesture. Stone, wood, linen, and light compose an atmosphere of restraint — refined, unhurried, and quietly assured. Home of Hinoki is not simply a studio for hair; it is a space where craft, nature, and stillness converge, offering a rare and considered pause within the everyday.
